The Dutch longboard scene has been active since around 2011-2012, the core has grown to about 50 to 70 active downhill riders. We're a big family with only a handful of slow freeride spots, so we are always looking to find cool events to attend together! We love road trips!
Some of our favorites are Wallonhill and Eat Concrete in Belgium, KNK in Slovenia, Bela Joyride and Alpenrauschen in Austria and some of the dutchies have even been to Kozakov in Czech Republic, El Bueno at Tenerife, and Transylvania Downhill in Romania to name a few!
On the third sunday of September the entire Dutch community attends Car Free Sunday in Brussels, where the road is completely car free for the whole day! This event has been running since 2012!
The Netherlands also has a huge freestyle, dancing and long distance community. The freestyle and dancing community comes together every year at the world championship So You Think You Can Longboard Dance in Eindhoven, Mannheim Longboard Open, King of the Jungle in Osnabrück, and the Hamburg Longboard Open. The Dutch Distance Skaters meet up at the Dutch and Miami Ultraskate.

De Nederlandse longboard community is actief sinds 2012, de kern is gegroeid tot tussen de 50 en 70 actieve downhill skaters. We zijn een grote familie met een klein aantal langzame freeride spots, maar we zijn altijd op zoek naar vette evenementen om met z'n allen heen te gaan!
Onze favorieten zijn Wallonhill en Eat Concrete in België, KNK in Slovenië, Bela Joyride en Alpenrauschen in Oostenrijk, en een aantal Nederlanders zijn zelfs naar Kozakov in Tsjechië, El Bueno op Tenerife, en Transylvania Downhill in Roemenië geweest.
Ook wordt elk jaar op de derde zondag van September de binnenstad van Brussel autovrij gemaakt voor Car Free Sunday, daar kunnen we skaten in de hele binnenstad! Dit doen wij al sinds 2012!
Nederland heeft ook een gigantische freestyle, dance en long distance community. De freestyle en dance scene komt ieder jaar samen bij het wereldkampioenschap So You Think You Can Longboard Dance in Eindhoven, de Mannheim Longboard Open, King of the Jungle in Osnabrück, en de Hamburg Longboard Open. De long distance community is zeer actief bij de Nederlandse en Miami Ultraskate.
