PURETHANE
CREW
How many member are in the crew?
So we are around 20 members right now with many different skill levels, from just starting to slide to longboarding downhill in freerides by the country. Everybody is welcome to the crew and we consider a Purethane everyone that rides with us. Essentially we want to ride for having fun, always with security and common sense and like a big family. Like one of our mottos says: “If you doubt between the beer and the skate, maybe you’re a Purethane!”

What does your crew name mean?
About the name, we seek the pun between Pure Thane and pureta, a Spanish word meaning old crock or old square: someone too old to do what he is doing. Most of our members are beyond the forty!

How long have you been skating together? How did everything start?
The majority of us met up back in 2013 in the classes of Long School around three years ago, so that’s approximately the beginning of our story and the time most of us have been longboarding. There are some of us that skated before and some that have joined after, but there we had the privilege of learning side by side with Alfred Bipo, Marc Escoda, Josep Tous and Oleguer Carreras, four experienced riders that have participated in freerides and official competitions around the world. I don’t think we decided to form a crew. We were a bunch of colleagues longboarding together and … it just happened. To be honest, we wanted to make stickers and shirts, so a name and a logo were desperately needed! However, Purethane Crew was officially founded in 2014.
Whats your favourite spot to skate and chill ?
Everyday it's easy to find Purethanes at Forum spot.

Any wanted event attendance for the future?
As Bipo says: “Patina y se feliz” :)

Do you normally do skate trips (non events related)? Which one is the best for you?
We use to go regularly to La Muela to visit our friends from Mañoriders and last year some of us went to El Soplao in Cantabria to remember our first freeride.

Any wanted event attendance for the future?
Considering most of us are around 40 age old, we are clear in one thing: we want to ride Maryhill before retirement!

Have you been with the whole crew to any big Event? Which one is the best for you?
Well, talking about downhill, there are a few freerides in the region that we use to go: Rock’n’Board Fest in Navarcles is a classic, Sant Mateu is a lot of fun, Coll de Pal and Velefique are very enjoyable, Valle Escondido is a 6 days event and has 2 different tracks. This year also some of us went to Arico freeride and KnK. We enjoy all freerides ☺

Anything else that you wanna share with our readers?
As Bipo says: “Patina y se feliz” :)

We just started this new project, I hope you have been checking out All Year Long site, what do you think about it?
The idea of the website is awesome. It shows how big the skate community is, and how many possibilities it gives to skaters.
