Year of creation of the crew

RL was started on Instagram in 2013. At first it was just an Instagram thing. Uploading photos, some videos, just sharing stoke and our love for longboarding. Throughout years we started to realize we wanted to take this further and grow. Skating is our passion, and we want to share that same excitement with people.

What does your name means?

We don't have a specific reason behind our name, but something we always say is "stay rad and shred."

Have you been with the whole crew to any big Event? Which one is the best for you?

We haven't been to any big events, but our friends over at Full Circle recently hosted the Reading Summer Skate Jam 2017, which was a lot of fun. We're also hosting our event, Cardiff Summer Shred 2017, and we're hoping to make this an annual event..

Any wanted event attendance for the future?

SYCLD in Eindhoven is an event we'd love to go to..

Do you normally do skate trips (non events related)? Wich one is the best for you?

We don't usually do a skate trip due to time and money, but we have some ideas in the works.

Any really wanted trips for the future?

SYCLD in Eindhoven, and we want to do a skate and surf trip all around Cornwall.

Whats your favourite spot to skate and chill ?

Our favourite spots are Bute Square, and Cardiff Bay. They're great places to skate and chill, especially because there's usually lots of other skaters hanging out there too.

How long have you been skating together? How did everything start?

Callum, Sully and I (Zee), have been skating together since the summer of 2012. Sully and I used to skateboard together occasionally but it all changed when our friendship group went to the park like we always did, but Callum had come along for the first time and brought his longboard. It was a Saltrock cruiser he had lying around at home. Sully and I saw it, and ran over immediately, and started asking questions and riding the deck. Sully had been thinking about longboards for a little while but it wasn't really on my mind, until I rode that Saltrock deck. After cruising around on it, and going down a few hills, we were set on getting our own. So a month later we both bought the Mindless Hunter. Over summer we just met up and started cruising around and going down the local hills. Over time we started to skate more and discover more about the sport and the more we learnt, the more motivated and passionate we became.

We just started this new project, I hope you have been checking out All Year Long site, what do you think about it?

We heard about All Year Long through our friend Myles, from Full Circle, and immediately checked it out! We love the work the All Year Long team are doing. We believe raising awareness for all these different skate groups/brands is very important. We are also focused on trying to help this crews gain more recognition and raise awareness for longboarding as a sport. On behalf of everyone here at RL, we thank you for your work in supporting the community.
